Thank you for such a prayerful, centering service. I am a Roman Catholic, and my partner Les is Anglican. We so enjoy the service at St. John's, and have visited on numerous occasions. We are currently relocating permanently from the US to Montreal, and hope to make St. John's our parish home.
Sincerely,
Mike Ellis |

Greetings from Grenada
The web site did two things:
Provided information I didn't know ( Father
Keith's background as well as Garth's)
Brought home how much I miss the services, the
parishoners, the Sunday morning coffee, in other words everything.
God willing, see you on Maundy Thursday

Dear People of St John the Evangelist:
Thank you for the wonderful photos on your web sight. It has brought back a flood of fond spiritual memories.
I was in the Confirmation class of Palm Sunday 1960. Under Fr.Hertzler and one of the Sisters.
Bp.Dixon was the celebrant.

This is a wonderful site, especially for those of us who no longer reside in Montreal. I was baptized in this church in 1916. |

I remember in the 40's going to activities held in the basement of St. John's Church. There was a Sister Christine who looked after activities for young girls. It brings back nice memories.

Blessings on your community!
I found your site through the link in the "Mystery Worshipper" section of "Ship of Fools" and promptly looked over your entire web site. I like it; it is very well done, but I like even more the community that it reflects. Thank you for all that you do and represent to the world in the name of Christ.

Saw the red roof from my hotel room and was curious enough to walk up and take a closer look. VERY different from my suburban Episcopal church in Virginia but very similar in vision and world view. Didn't get a chance to look inside but the photos on the website are beautiful! |

We have visited Montreal twice and attended Mass at your Church and were spiritually uplifted. We were guests of one of your parishioners, Garrfield Du Couturier-Nichol. He sends us regular news of your Church and we were delighted and impressed by the beautful calendar that you produced a couple of years ago. We ourselves attend St James's Church, Clacton-on-Sea, which is in the Anglo-Cathelic tradition. Sincere wishes Owen and Michael |

Greetings from St. Mary Magdalene's Toronto.
I attended 8.30 Mass this past Sunday and felt right at home.
I read on the website that Father Schmidt grew up in Stratford.
I also grew up there after coming from England in 1957. My home parish was St. Stephen's.
I was there until I left for college in Toronto in 1966.
As a matter of coincidence my doubles partner at the Stratford Badminton Club is those days
was a Carla Schmidt, a fellow classmate.
If any of your parishioners have occasion to be in Toronto they can e-mail me and I will gladly direct them to St. Mary's and make them
feel welcome at the 11 am High Mass.
Thank you.

Dear Friends,
It is nice to run across your web page here on the net. It brings back good memories of the three weeks that I worshiped with you during Michealmass in 2006. I was very much warmed by your hospitality after the sevices and the general feeling of being a part of the congrgation the whole time that I was there. I will be sure to drop in again if I am ever in Monteal again.
God bless
Herb, N.B.

Your website is interesting and inspiring. It looks professional and yet really user friendly. Your church is lucky to have a very talented team to be able to assemble this kind of website. I like especially the gallery. Keep up the Good Work! |

I attended the 2007 New Year's Day Mass at St. John the Evangelist. I have attended in the past and have always enjoyed the special time the service represents.
The Mass was particularly important for me this year. I thank all the participants in the mass who made it such a spiritual experience. The organ, cantor, hymns and sermon all came together to a satisfying conclusion.
I particularly appreciate the efforts of the organist and the celebrant.
Thank you for this offering.
May God continue to bless the ministry of St. John the Evangelist in 2007. |

Hi from TO
Just wanted to say hello. I used to attend special services at St. John's through the 80's and 90's and played when Patrick Wedd needed a sub, recorded with the choir, and played for the organ's anniversary concert. I still remember the first time I stepped into
> the church for an Evensong for the Royal Canadian College of Organists back when Donald Mackey was Organist. The service and the building took my breath away. I specially enjoyed playing the Mass on New Year's Day for several years running - sorry, starting to ramble!
I was looking at the web site, to see what is happening at the church, and really wished I could access either monthly/seasonal music lists and/or bulletins to see the shape of the liturgy and what hymns are being used etc. (as they do at Mary Mags and other places).
Any chance you might add an archive to the web site? It would be nice for those of us who are just able to touch base via the net to still
feel connected to the worship of the parish. If this can't be accomplished because of limited web space, could the office email a
pdf or word file of the Sunday bulletin each week? I am guessing that this might already be happening for in-house folk - so how about
expanding it?
Best wishes,
|
